On Sunday January 18th, at 8:30am, Station 681 was dispatched for the 3rd alarm, to the 600 block of Emerson Ave. in Lindenwold for a reported building fire at the Lindenwold Towers. Initial reports from police, stated that they had a heavy smoke condition from the third floor, and they also had a victim hanging out of a third story window.

Squad 681 was placed into staging in the Deterding's Parking lot where the officer of the squad assumed the position of Staging Officer. Engine 681 responded and went to staging as well. Subsequently all companies were released from staging, and Squad 681 relocated to the quarters of Lindenwold Station #1 to cover, along with an engine from Stratford, and the ladder company from West Berlin.
